The Aveyron, the ideal holiday destination!

Set in the heart of the triangle formed by Montpellier, Clermont-Ferrand and Toulouse, the Aveyron is a natural haven boasting a wealth of treasures just waiting to be discovered. The sights not to be missed include the famous Millau viaduct, an amazing feat of engineering, the cultural city of Rodez, the Aubrac plateau, the Grands Causses Natural Park, along with the characteristic villages of Belcastel and Sainte-Eulalie-d’Olt. And that’s just a tiny glimpse of what’s in store for you!

Choosing a Sandaya campsite for your holidays in the Aveyron is an EXCELLENT idea! And for several good reasons: you’ll find a beautiful water park where you can splash around with the family, a prime geographic location from which to explore the region’s most beautiful attractions, accommodation to suit all tastes, activities for campers of every age… and the list goes on!

Visit the Aveyron with the family

There’s no shortage of activities to enjoy with the family. The grown-ups will appreciate a visit to the Soulages museum in Rodez, the artist’s birthplace, for its collection and the building’s architectural appeal, while the kids will enjoy art at their level in a series of interactive workshops. After art, explore History with a capital H during your holiday, with a tour of the area’s numerous medieval castles. A journey back in time that will capture your little treasures’ hearts and ignite their imaginations.

We’re sure there are some cheese lovers in your crew! If so, you won’t want to miss a visit to the Roquefort cellars, where visitors of all ages can learn the secrets (or most of them!) of how this emblematic cheese is made. With a tasting session to round off the visit! Mouthwatering!

Visit the Aveyron as a couple

The Rougier de Camarès landscape has an air of the American West about it. The red earth and rolling hills are reminiscent of the deserts of Colorado, but there can be no doubt: you’re still in the Aveyron! You can explore the length and breadth of this unique landscape while you hike together. On your walks, you’ll come across other gems such as Sylvanès Abbey, Montaigut Castle or the village of Camarès, famous for its biscuit factory – the perfect treat after all your efforts!

The Grands Causses Natural Park, in which Millau is located, is the third-largest natural park in France and will thrill lovers of nature and outdoor activities. This stunning area stretches some 330,000 hectares no less, and hosts a programme of activities including walks along the Mill Route, rock climbing and canoeing down the Gorges du Tarn. It’s time for adventure!
