Lake Sanguinet Municipal Museum, the ideal holiday destination!

We sometimes think that things have been there, unchanged since the dawn of time, which is far from being the case. Lake Sanguinet, for example, was formed gradually over thousands of years. This museum houses a collection of 450 objects that tell the story of the people who lived on the shores of the lake as it formed, over 2,000 years. A fascinating immersion in history you won’t want to miss!

For a trip to Sanguinet, its museum and its surroundings, our Sandaya campsites are the ideal base. Why? Because of their prime location right beside the lake and their high-quality amenities and services! Comfortable mobile homes, traditional pitches, children’s clubs, swimming pool... you’re sure of a happy stay at Sandaya!

Visit Lake Sanguinet Municipal Museum with the family

How did people live beside the lake 2,000 years ago? What was their daily life and their environment like? All the questions that your little family keeps asking will be answered at the museum in a series of fun activities designed especially for younger visitors.

While the museum is great, making new friends at the campsite is even better! And that’s what happens at the free children’s clubs! There is a club with dedicated activities for every age group: with handicrafts, games, shows and sports tournaments, your little campers will have no time to get bored – isn’t that great?

Visit Lake Sanguinet Municipal Museum as a couple

In today’s fast-paced world, it’s good to take some time out for a cultural break, just the two of you, in a museum. Here, slow down and discover the treasures from Neolithic times, the Metal Age and the ancient world at your own pace.

And after your cultural interlude, give in to the call of the sea! Head to the beautiful Atlantic beaches nearby to admire the sunset, snuggled in the arms of your loved one.

Camping Musée municipal du Lac de Sanguinet: our handy tips for a successful stay

A visit to the museum will leave you with some lasting memories and why not pick up a few souvenirs at the museum’s shop too? With books, comics, magnets and stationery, there’s something for everyone!

Before or after your visit to the museum, a refreshing dip in the nearby lake is a great way to start or end the day.

Combine a visit to the museum with a wander through the heart of Sanguinet village. On foot or by bike, give into the charm and gentle way of life typical of the Landes villages.

You’ll no doubt work up an appetite as you stroll through the museum! When you fancy a bite, what could beat a delicious ice cream, comfortably seated beside the lake?
