Visit Angers with the family

Oyez, oyez young damsels and squires, let’s take the family on a tour to explore every corner of Angers! Our first stop: the famous castle. Its 17 defensive towers, parapet walk and drawbridge are sure to fascinate your young knights. Meanwhile, parents will enjoy the gardens and be amazed by the Apocalypse Tapestry, the largest set of medieval tapestries known to date. A masterpiece unlike any other in the world!

The Terra Botanica park should also feature on your list. This is Europe’s largest botanical park, spread over 12 hectares and home to more than 500,000 plants from every continent. You’ll be unbeatable on the history of plants after a visit here! Round off your day with a canoe trip along the River Maine or go horse-riding

Visit Angers as a couple

Whatever you and your sweetheart enjoy, there’s something for everyone in Angers. Art lovers will head to the David d’Angers gallery in the Abbey of All Saints, showcasing sculptures by the eponymous artist, followed by a trip to the Musée des Beaux-Arts.

Or do you prefer outdoor activities? Then opt for a bike ride along the River Maine, an outing in a canoe or a boat trip... or all of the above! Wine lovers will be spoilt too, since the wines of Anjou are highly reputed. Visit the vineyards and enjoy a tasting session for a real oenological treat! To be enjoyed in moderation, of course!
