Alicante, the perfect holiday destination!

About a 2-hour drive from Valencia, Alicante is a popular destination for its sunny climate almost all year round, its relaxed lifestyle and its lively nightlife, the same as its neighbour Benidorm, another destination on the east coast renowned for its festive atmosphere and rest and relaxation. Whether you're travelling with your family or your loved one, have fun, relax, visit and enjoy yourself: in short, Alicante is THE city on the Costa Blanca to be discovered or rediscovered.

The perfect base for your getaway in Spain, our Sandaya campsite has pulled out all the stops to ensure that your stay goes smoothly: water park with heated swimming pool, playground and children's clubs, comfortable accommodation suitable for all types of families, entertainment and much more await you!

Visit Alicante with the family

Leave your car at the car park and explore the city on foot! Accompanied by your lively tribe, you will be able to choose from a range of city walks. Stroll along the seafront, through the “barrio” (the old town) or up to Santa Bárbara Castle. Whatever the route you choose, young and old alike will discover the many sides of this town and fall for the charms of the beautiful Alacant.

What does the rest of the programme hold? Visit the aforementioned castle, a ninth-century Muslim castle perched on a hill, and its museum, stroll along the paseo (a promenade lined with palm trees), sample an ice cream or horchata de chufa, a typical drink made with tiger nuts, and enjoy a day on the beach and make the most of the warm Mediterranean waters. And after a good night's rest at the campsite, it's time to start all over again!

Visit Alicante as a couple

Days with your loved one in Alicante will be fun-packed, enriching and exciting! After a visit to the “Mercado Central”, the colourful market where thousands of local products are on display, the archaeological museum and the museum of contemporary art, the city and its history will hold no more secrets for you!

After such a rich and fascinating programme, you will have deserved a relaxing moment by the sea. Thanks to its many beaches, you are sure to find one that is perfect for you. Our top picks are San Juan beach and Muchavista beach, beautiful (and extensive) stretches of sand that can be found nearby and which are easily accessible by public transport. Finally, round off your day in style and head to the port to savour a paella for two and marvel at the setting sun. What better way to round off a romantic getaway?

Camping Alicante: our handy tips for a successful stay

Did you know? Alicante and the Costa Blanca boast more than 300 days of sunshine a year, over 200 km of beaches and an average annual temperature of 19 degrees!

Paella, tapas, fideuà (a dish made with vermicelli cooked in fish stock): your taste buds will be overcome with pleasure in Valencia!

One great idea for an activity to enjoy with the whole family: a day trip to the island of Tabarca, Spain's smallest inhabited island, accessible by ferry from the port of Alicante.
