Visit the Juno Beach Centre

In Courseulles-sur-Mer, just a few minutes from your Sandaya campsite in Calvados, Juno Beach is a historically important location that has been home since 2003 to a museum dedicated to the memory of Canada's soldiers: the Juno Beach Centre. On Courseulles beach on D Day, 6th June 1944, 45,000 Canadians landed to provide the Allies with support. These days, there are 7 rooms telling the story of the events that took place, featuring records, photos, slideshows and accounts which take you back more than 60 years to a fascinating episode. Outside, meanwhile, Juno Park provides an opportunity to discover its historical remains, including bunkers, which you'll be able to look round with Canadian guides. The Juno Beach Centre is open from 9.30am to 7pm during high season and entry for campers aged up to 8 years is free of charge!
