At the gateway to the Gorges du Verdon, the largest canyon in Europe, your campsite in Castellane makes the ideal starting point to test the emerald waters so characteristic of the Verdon! And if you’re looking for the perfect playground for children of all ages, you only need to follow the river a little farther to reach the Castillon Lake.
All around the lakeside, the lifeguarded beaches and activity centres make it easy to enjoy a superb afternoon brimming with family adventures. After the picnic it’s time to get the swimsuits out and set off for a trip by canoe, standup paddleboard or sailing dinghy to discover the most sublime corners of this vast artificial lake!

To have a little glimpse of all that awaits you, take the footpath to the “Roc”, a majestic limestone cliff towering above the village of Castellane. And at the top? A 360° view over the Verdon valley, a panorama certain to take your breath away!
You’d like to see more? The many local hiking trails will take you into the heart of the Gorges du Verdon, to the east near the Castillon Lake, to the west towards the Saint-Croix Lake.
