So come with the family and take time out to visit the Eric Tabarly Cité de la Voile or climb aboard the submarine Flore. In Lorient, every step takes you on a great sea voyage, as you discover the maritime history of France! After a day exploring all the beauty of Lorient and that of the island of Groix, lying just 45 minutes off its shores, return to the comfort of your fully-equipped mobile home and a night filled with dreams of epic sea voyages over the oceans of the world! Fancy making the most of the truly special setting offered by your campsite in the Finistère? Come and settle yourself under the curved roof of your covered and heated swimming pool, try your hand at pétanque with the family or organise a grand tournament on the campsite’s multisports ground. Whilst the children are busy with their favourite activities in the free mini clubs, set off for a walk along the vast beach of soft fine sand next to your Sandaya campsite on the Brittany coast. Stop for a moment to admire the constantly-changing colours of the sky and sea as they evolve with each passing hour. Then enjoy the perfect peace and quiet around you as you head off to gather shellfish or catch a crab or two!

Seaside campsite

With its clear waters and beaches of exceptionally soft fine sand, Lorient and its coastline invites you to take a sunny break looking out over the ocean’s waves. Whilst the royal beach at Port-Louis is the perfect spot to admire the yachts moored in the crystal waters of Lorient, the Kerguelen beach at Larmor-Plage offers a magnificent view toward the island of Groix, just a few kilometres from the port city. Not far from the Gâvres headland and backed by the largest stretch of dunes in Brittany, Lorient’s Grande Plage is ideal if you’re looking to try the delights of watersports with the family. Sailboard, land yacht or funboard, to each their choice of thrills and excitement to get up to speed as the sea breeze fills the sails. On the route back to the campsite, make one last halt on the Fort-Bloqué beach and its 1,900 metres of sand and pebbles: its 18th century fort lit up by the colourful glow of the setting sun is a spectacle not to be missed!

A day on the island of Groix

Make the most of your camping holiday with Sandaya in Brittany to take a trip to the island of Groix, a veritable pearl set in the Atlantic and only 45 minutes from the coast at Lorient. Hardly have you arrived in Port-Tudy than you’ll already feel the unique atmosphere of this small island that leaves no-one indifferent. With its little boats tied up opposite the colourful fishermen’s houses, the cry of the seagulls blending into the lapping of the waves as you take a deep breath of the iodine-rich air, the harbour on the island of Groix definitely sets the tone for the rest of your visit. First step for your day: hire a bike to set off to explore the natural wonders of the island of Groix. After stopping off in town to sample the local salted butter caramels, it’s time to head for the famous Grands Sables beach, Europe’s only convex beach. And since, on Groix, the bike is king, you only need to push the pedals a little longer to get to the Sables Rouge beach and its garnet red rocks. Then take a moment to stop off in the pretty little alleyways of Locmaria before following the island’s wild coast with its steep cliffs and heathland until you reach the famous Pen-Men lighthouse, the most powerful in the Morbihan. Before you stretches the immensity of the Atlantic Ocean, a truly awesome spectacle that brings a fabulous impression of being alone in the world!
