Ready for a whole day filled with adventure in southern Brittany? Follow us all the way to the port of Doëlan! To appreciate its emerald waves from close quarters, there’s nothing better than hiring a canoe for a fun excursion with the family. As you paddle gently down the ria, you’ll have plenty of time to admire its shores, before finally reaching the ocean. All you have to do now is find the perfect little creek to stop for lunch!
Time for a spot of bathing, or a relaxing laze? Opt for the family beach of Trénez, towards Pont-Aven. At low tide it’s the gateway to the Île Percée, realm of shellfish gatherers!

If you’re heading off to conquer the Finistère just the two of you, you certainly won’t be disappointed: the port of Doëlan is without doubt the most picturesque corner in the whole of southern Brittany! So on with those hiking shoes, we’re off for a walk.
There are a host of footpaths that follow the shores of the inlets and creeks around Doëlan, the perfect opportunity to admire the area from every which way. The most popular is the GR34, the famous long-distance footpath that hugs the Brittany coast all the way from north to south. By following its red and white markings, you’ll be able to head inland along the banks of the ria all the way to the Pont Dû bridge, and cross over to join Doëlan’s right bank. Now you can continue along the coast until you reach the Le Kérou, Bellangenêt and Les Grands Sables beaches for a well-deserved break!
