The Lérins Islands, unmissable ports of call during your holiday!
Just 15 minutes off-shore from Cannes, take a trip to the delicious Lérins Islands, two fabulous beauty spots in the Mediterranean. Sainte-Marguerite never fails to enchant with its woodlands and its creeks bathed by turquoise water, whilst the even more secretive Saint-Honorat is home to a rich historical heritage.
On the coast, your campsite in the Var awaits you for a stay that combines the beaches of your dreams with wild unspoilt inland areas. Take up residence in one of our fully-equipped cottages, in a lodge tent or on a camping pitch and relax as you soak up our very Provençal dolce vita! From the swimming pools and waterslides of the water park to the outdoor sports grounds, there’s always an activity to match your mood of the moment. And the kids? They’ll be busy enjoying a host of fun entertainment, new friends and magical times at the campsite’s free mini clubs!
Visit the Lérins Islands with the family
Rise and shine everyone, we’re off on a cruise! After a speedy breakfast at the campsite, it’s time to head for Cannes and a 15 min boat trip to the island of Sainte-Marguerite. Ready to play Swiss Family Robinson?
As soon as you land, Fort Royal, an age-old fortress standing high above the sea, draws all eyes. Today it is home to the Museum of the Sea and its impressive archaeological collection. But what the children prefer above all are the aquariums in the Méditerranoscope area, a chance to observe the underwater life found in the waters around the Lérins Islands! Still a little time left before catching the boat back again? Take a walk around the Étang du Batéguier and discover the pretty creeks that await you for a picnic or a spot of bathing with the family!
Visit the Lérins Islands as a couple
Fancy a change from the sandy beaches of the seashore, a chance to lose yourselves in the midst of nature at its most unspoilt, all alone, just the two of you? Then it’s time to set off for a romantic trip to the Lérins Islands!
First port of call: the island of Sainte-Marguerite and its forest that exudes the scent of pine trees and eucalyptus. A true voyage for the senses! Gradually the trees are replaced by a coastline etched with small wild creeks, each bathed by the transparent waters of the Mediterranean. Our favourites: the Le Portet and Le Four creeks to the south, offering a breathtaking view of the island of Saint-Honorat!
Camping Lérins Islands: our handy tips for a successful stay
Don’t forget your walking shoes! Essential for crossing through the forest or to reach the island’s most gorgeous creeks.
Did you know? The ancient Fort Royal was where the “Man in an Iron Mask” was held prisoner; you can even visit his cell!
Still inhabited, the Saint-Honorat Abbey has hardly changed since the 5th century: come and take a journey back in time!
Useful to know: allow around €15 per person for a return ticket. In high season the last boat leaves at 6pm!
