La Baule, the ideal holiday destination!

La Baule is one of those places you really do have to visit at least once when camping with Sandaya! Renowned above all for its 9km beach that stretches all the way from Le Pouliguen to Pornichet, its bay is also one of the most beautiful in the world. Hardly surprising given its surrounding pine trees and dunes, then add the superb seaside villas dating from the beginning of the last century and you have somewhere that’s truly a world apart. Ideal for a holiday you won’t forget in a hurry!

It is in this pretty little corner of France, between the Loire-Atlantique and southern Brittany, that you’ll find your ideal seaside holiday rental. So listen to your inner desires: fully-equipped mobile home for a holiday with up-to-the-minute comfort, or camping pitch to make the most of being really close to nature. And when it comes to relaxing, you can count on the covered and heated swimming pool together with the innumerable leisure activities for all the family. Forget the car: hire a bicycle from the campsite and head off for adventure!

Visit La Baule with the family

A whole 9km long? That’s a whole lot of space for paddling, splashing, building sandcastles, collecting shells, running at the water’s edge... For kids, La Baule is simply one vast playground to conquer on foot, on horseback or by bike. Time to hit the waves? There’s no shortage of watersports to enjoy with the family either: kitesurfing, windsurfing, jet-skiing... You’ll be spoilt for choice!

And if you’re travelling with up-and-coming explorers, combine your outing to La Baule with a trip to Saint-Nazaire. Head for the submarine base and a visit aboard the Espadon, the submarine that has sailed the equivalent of 17 times round the world!

Visit La Baule as a couple

Families may well adore it, but La Baule is just as much of a first-rate destination for those in search of a romantic moment together. And if there is one route you really shouldn’t miss it’s the one that takes in the gorgeous seaside villas of yesteryear, mainly located in the Les Pins district. Stroll along its tree-planted avenues, so pleasant in summer, and admire the architectural treasures of days gone by. Belle Époque, Art Deco or even Creole, you’ll suddenly have that magical feeling of travelling back in time!

Before returning to the campsite, stop off in Guérande and explore its mediaeval town centre. You won’t be able to resist its narrow cobbled streets or its delicious pancakes with salt butter caramel!
