Visit La Guérinière with the family
La Guérinière has the particularity of being at the narrowest point of the island of Noirmoutier: so the ocean is always close at hand! From the La Cantine beach to that of Les Sables d’Or, the sand is gently shelving and the currents are weak; which makes it the perfect place to enjoy a great afternoon’s bathing with the family!
And for a journey to the other side of the world without leaving the Vendée, take the kids off to visit the butterflies of the Île aux Papillons, just north of La Guérinière. In this tropical glasshouse, the only one of its kind, some 1,000 butterflies from all corners of the world live in perfect freedom: an amazing spectacle that’s not to be missed!

After breakfast on your terrace, hire a bike directly from the campsite and set off for the centre of the island. You then have two choices: to the east, discover the oyster harbour at Le Bonhomme, the largest on the island. Giving directly onto the Bourgneuf Bay, its picturesque fishermen’s huts beckon you to enjoy a tasting looking out over the ocean! To the west, prepare for a total change of scene with the delightful woodland at Les Éloux. Rising to a high point of 23m, it offers a series of beautiful views over the sparkling beaches. So, how about a picnic made for two?

Into the saddle everyone: on Noirmoutier the bike is the favourite means of transport, ideal to keep in shape and reduce pollution!
