The Sancy Massif, a must-visit during your holiday!

Right in the heart of Auvergne, the Sancy Massif is one of the gems of a region where nature is always larger than life. Dominated by the Puy de Sancy, the highest summit of the Massif Central, this land is an exceptional outdoor playground where campers of every age can quench their thirst for adventure. With hundreds of hiking trails, heritage dating from time immemorial and delicious gourmet specialities, the Sancy Massif offers so many unforgettable experiences. Which will be yours?

And since you’ll need several days at least to truly appreciate the fabulous scenery of the Sancy Massif, settle yourself cosily at our campsite in Auvergne. Choose your perfect rental from the fully-equipped mobile homes and camping pitches that await you, as you prepare for an amazing stay in the great outdoors. And, to add that perfect finishing touch to your holiday at the foot of the volcanoes, you can count on our bathing area with covered heated swimming pool and waterslides. The ideal spot for kids to get together for some high-speed racing! For the rest of the time, our free mini clubs are waiting to take over, so parents can enjoy a well-deserved rest.

Visit the Sancy Massif with the family

An immense natural playground, the Sancy Massif makes a very special destination for every family! And since it took its name from the Puy de Sancy, how about heading off to climb the 1,886m to reach its summit? From the station at Le Mont-Dore, simply jump aboard the cable car, you’ll then only have 860 steps left to get to the very top. Eyes wide open as you take in the breathtaking view!

And when you return to the foot of the mountain, farms, lakes and fun parks will all be competing to entertain the kids as they make the most of the landscape. But if there’s one trip they’ll adore more than any other it’s without doubt a visit to Murol Castle. Each summer, this fortress standing proudly above Lake Chambon is waiting to whisk you back to the heart of the Middle Ages, with entertainment for all the family. Definitely not to be missed!

Visit the Sancy Massif as a couple

There’s no better way to recharge the batteries than with a holiday in the Sancy Massif! And for the perfect opportunity to live your romantic moment to the full, relax with a spa session at the resorts of Le Mont-Dore and La Bourboule near your Sandaya campsite. An activity that you’ll appreciate all the more after a good hike! Because the Sancy Massif is above all heaven on earth for walkers. More than 670km of footpaths criss-cross the landscape, each leading to its own special destination: lake, volcano or waterfalls will all be yours to discover. Simply follow the waymarks!

Another activity not to be missed: tasting the local delicacies! Auvergne is always eager to share its many PDO cheese-based specialities. Nowhere is this truer than in Saint-Nectaire, home to the cheese of the same name. It even has its own museum, perfect when you want to take home a delicious holiday souvenir!
