If there is one town where art is sacred, it’s Avignon! Every summer, jazz is celebrated in the Les Carmes cloister, a splendid historical monument that can accommodate up to 500 people. Over several days, musicians from an array of different backgrounds come together to share their passion for this style of music, which is more eclectic and varied than you might think.
In addition to the free evening events and the ticketed shows, the Avignon Jazz Festival includes the Tremplin Jazz d’Avignon competition where 6 finalists compete for the Grand Prix and a recording session at the legendary “La Buissonne” studio.
