Visit Avignon as a couple

Let your romantic moment out of time begin with a stroll around the historical town centre, a Unesco world heritage site. This is one town best explored on foot and your route is certain to take you from the famous Avignon Bridge to the Pope’s Palace via Place Pie. Prepare to be totally amazed!

Then head down to the landing stage ready to leave town by boat and lose yourselves amongst the greenery of Barthelasse Island. On your return from your country island idyll, it’s time to relax with a glass of wine accompanied by an aubergine “papeton” a speciality of the town. Finally, as Provence is synonymous with lavender it’s hardly surprising that it has its very own museum in Avignon. Make the most of a visit to find a souvenir heady with the scent of the holidays.
