Venice’s carnival may be unique, but Rochefort pays it a worthy tribute each year. With the first rays of summer sunshine, both locals and holidaymakers are invited to don their finery and join in the Venetian Parade, costumed from head to toe, and duly powdered and masked. But even if you don’t have period attire readily to hand, it’s still a glorious opportunity to see Rochefort in a very different light!
Come and follow the joyful procession as it leads you through some of Rochefort’s most emblematic spots: Place Colbert, the gardens of the Corderie Royale, Avenue Charles de Gaulle... And there’s plenty of other entertainment throughout the day for the whole family to enjoy, in parallel to the carnival itself, before watching the prize-giving ceremony that rewards the finest costumes.
