Visit La Teste de Buch with the family
Bring the kids along and see how quickly they take to the sea in La Teste-de-Buch!
With the family, set off to tackle the natural marvel in the shape of the Dune du Pilat as you ascend its 170 steps! And when you get to the top, your children will be dumbstruck! Between the Banc d’Arguin, the Cap Ferret lighthouse, the Île aux Oiseaux and the forest stretching away into the distance, the views are quite simply magical! You'd also want to linger there for a picnic featuring some lovely local produce! And when you climb down again, you can continue your great day on the beach of Le Moulleau. So just get in that water!
Visit La Teste de Buch as a couple
As well as enjoying a romantic walk on Europe's biggest sand dune (preferably at sunset!), make the most of your camping stay as a couple at La Teste-de-Buch by seeing all its other highlights!
Start off with a boat trip to the sublime Banc d’Arguin, a small, sandy island with crystal-clear water looking over to the Dune du Pilat. And to get the BEST holiday snap of all, head for the Cap Ferret lighthouse, home to one of the best of all views of the whole Bassin d’Arcachon. And come by bike if you can, as the ride to it is itself worth a detour!
Camping La Teste-de-Buch: our handy tips for a successful stay
To put a picnic together, head for La Teste-de-Buch market, one of the biggest in the Gironde!
And to get to the famous cabins on stilts or cabanes tchanquées of the Île aux Oiseaux, there's nothing quite like a bit of sea kayaking!
Fancy trying your hand at a few waterports? Then you'll be happiest at the Cazaux-Sanguinet Lake!
More energetic visitors can take the bike circuit from Arcachon to the Dune du Pilat: some wonderful scenery awaits you!
