The Pointe du Grouin, the ideal holiday destination!

The Pointe du Grouin between Cancale and Saint-Malo is the final stretch of land before you enter Mont-Saint-Michel Bay. It offers seriously spectacular views and is the perfect spot for a fun family day out. You'll have to make a little effort to enjoy such beauty, as there’s a short walk along the sunken lanes to get there. But don’t worry, it’s not too strenuous – and we promise that it’s thoroughly worth it!

To discover this vast and majestic scenery, along with the rest of beautiful Brittany, choose a Sandaya campsite to host you and your crew. You’ll find everything you need: water park, the ocean nearby, accommodation to suit every style, and a gorgeous green setting just waiting to be explored. Unbeatable!

Visit the Pointe du Grouin with the family

Keen walkers take note! Walking and hiking are the order of the day in Brittany! Visitors of all ages can enjoy some gentle exercise in the great outdoors, as they admire the splendour of this unspoilt natural setting. But reassure your kids – there’s more than just walking on the programme! Family activities at the Pointe du Grouin also include a trip to the semaphore or time spent playing on the nearby beaches.

Brace yourselves – our next activity is likely to send your little tykes into a tizzy of excitement! Head to Cancale, just a stone’s throw away, for a trip out to sea to observe the marine biodiversity… including dolphins! In fact, the area boasts the highest concentration of bottlenose dolphins in Europe. Even if we can’t guarantee that you’ll spot these sea creatures, you’ll enjoy a truly memorable experience with your budding marine biologists!

Visit the Pointe du Grouin as a couple

The Pointe du Grouine can be the end point… or the beginning of a romantic ramble! Because yes, the headland lies on the Customs Path, a sublime hiking trail along the Breton coastline. The blue of the ocean on one side, the lush green beauty of nature on the other, and your beloved by your side... all the ingredients you need for a magical romantic interlude, wouldn’t you agree?

And to round off your idyllic day together in Ille-et-Vilaine? There’s a multitude of options to cater for all: a trip out at sea, an outing to the characteristic towns and villages such as Dinard and Saint-Malo, “the city of privateers”, a stroll through the rolling green countryside of Brittany or a tour to discover its heritage gems. Your days will be packed full of enjoyment, but you'll be glad to get back to your cosy accommodation for a restful night’s sleep... ready to start all over again the next day!

Camping Pointe du Grouin: our handy tips for a successful stay

Did you know? Abbé Fouré carved 300 sculptures in the rock of Rothéneuf. His colossal work, made up of pirates and monsters of every kind, was almost 15 years in the making!

We're sure you know – no trip to Brittany is complete without sampling some of its many sweet treats! Try crêpes, galettes, salted butter caramel... give into temptation and indulge in the scrumptious Breton specialities.

The Île des Landes, a tiny island off the Pointe du Grouin, is an ornithological and botanical reserve. While it can’t be visited, you can observe the great cormorants, herring gulls and other seabirds with a pair of binoculars from the headland.

From Cap Fréhel to Mont-Saint-Michel bay, the Pointe du Grouin offers sweeping views that stretch across the horizon. A picture-perfect panorama to capture with your phone camera (weather permitting!).
