Camping Ribes: our handy tips for a successful stay

Did you know? The village owes its prosperity to sericulture, in other words silkworm farming. These days, it mainly lives from its vines, chestnut trees and olive trees. Nature is generous in the Ardèche.

Ribes is home to a unique historical relic: the Merovingian tombs. These treasures can be discovered after a hike so if you’re a history buff, you’ll need your walking shoes!

Like many Ardèche villages, Ribes prospered thanks to silkworm farming, or sericulture. Today, the pride of the village is picodon, a delicious goat’s cheese. Feel free to indulge!

In Ardèche, chestnuts are a star attraction! They are even showcased in their own museum and the chestnut trail will help you discover the different varieties of chestnut tree as you enjoy the fresh air. Ideal for families and couples.
