Larnas, the ideal holiday destination!

Switch off and enjoy the fresh air in the great outdoors: that’s the programme we recommend in Larnas, a lovely village perched on its rock. For an hour or for the whole day, for a holiday with the family or with friends, Larnas promises a peaceful welcome break from the daily routine! Slow down, take a deep breath and savour the present moment.

And what does a Sandaya campsite in the Ardèche offer? First and foremost, an unspoilt natural setting where you can relax and let go. Then there are the services designed to deliver the very best camping experience: heated water park, spa, direct access to the river, free children’s clubs, sports activities in the daytime and fabulous festive entertainment in the evening... all the ingredients for a perfect holiday made in Sandaya!

Visit Larnas with the family

The Ardèche is renowned for its vast choice of family-friendly activities. Whether you’re looking for a fun, sporty or gourmet experience, there’s plenty of choice here! If there’s one thing you mustn’t miss, it’s a trip to the Chauvet 2 cave. This UNESCO-listed site is a faithful reproduction of the original cave which contains cave paintings that are 36,000 years old! A trip back in time that your budding young historians will simply LOVE.

On the border between the Ardèche and the Drôme, la Ferme aux crocodiles in Pierrelatte is also ideal for a family outing. As its name suggests, this animal park is home to a congregation of crocodiles, but that’s not all! There is also a lovely collection of birds, turtles, snakes and lizards to admire. Your young campers will really love getting up close to so many different animals!

Visit Larnas as a couple

Nature lovers should add a descent of the Gorges de l’Ardèche in a canoe to their holiday to-do list. A romantic trip on the water surrounded by the spectacular beauty of this unique site leaves every visitor spellbound. The highlight of your trip will be the Pont d’Arc, another emblematic natural wonder that will provide the perfect backdrop for a loved-up selfie!

Like the Ardèche, Larnas benefits from a rich terroir where some typically southern produce thrives, such as lavender, almonds and vines. And there’s another idea for a romantic outing: set off to discover how these amazing products are grown and made! And the bonus? You’ll be able to choose a souvenir or two to take back home!

Camping Larnas: our handy tips for a successful stay

The Ardèche has been a vine-growing region for centuries. Whether you're an amateur enthusiast or a connoisseur of fine wines, you shouldn’t miss a visit to an estate followed by a tasting session. To be enjoyed in moderation, of course!

If you love flowers, be sure to visit the “iriseraie” near the hamlet of Valgayette where 2,500 varieties of iris are grown. Go in May when the flowers are in bloom and admire the extraordinary colours!

Set amidst meadows and lavender fields, the Church of Saint-Pierre is a 12th century Romanesque treasure that will enchant lovers of heritage and historical sites.

Pull on your walking shoes and set off along the Hermitage of Sainte-Beaume hiking trail for a lovely walk in the heart of the Gorges de la Sainte-Beaume.
