This summer, take a step back in time in the lovely town of Pézenas in Occitanie! Just 2 minutes from the Mediterranean, halfway between Béziers and Montpellier, Pézenas has an extraordinary heritage for you to come and find out about during your camping holiday in the Hérault, with listed historical monuments, alleyways featuring quaint shops and stalls and sun-drenched vineyards in the heart of a protected area of nature. So why not come and pay a visit to this staunchly Languedoc-style town!

Book your spot for a campsite holiday close to Pézenas

Listed as a town of artistic and historical interest, Pézenas in the Hérault is a place to stop off for a lovely stroll in the shadow of the old town looking out over the River Peyne. As you make your way through its cobbled alleyways, you'll come across some wonderful private mansions including the Hôtel de Lacoste, the Hôtel de Malbran and the Hôtel d’Alfonce. Or perhaps you're a theatre fan? Then the museums and other entertainment options in Pézenas will tell you all about one of its most famous residents, Molière. Close to Pézenas, some of the Languedoc's most famous wines come from the vineyards which skirt the Canal du Midi, so some delicious tastings are on the cards too! To really enjoy an unforgettable holiday in the heart of the Languedoc-Roussillon, come and stay in the mobile homes and bungalows or on the pitches of this holiday village on the Mediterranean. Here, you'll be able to enjoy a wealth of different activities with the family, with olympiads on the multisports ground, aquagym lessons in the swimming pools of the water park, tennis and pétanque, and, of course, various watersports from the beach, which can be accessed directly from the campsite. And for our littler visitors, there are free kids clubs with a fantastic outdoor entertainment programme, as well as hours of fun spent sliding down the waterslides!

Seaside camping

While Pézenas lies inland in the Hérault, visitors will sooner or later be looking to get to the fine sand beaches of the Mediterranean! The place to head for is the seaside resort of the Cap d’Agde, which lies just half an hour further south, and which is home to a long beach of golden sand. Known as the "holiday capital", the Cap d’Agde really does have all sorts of great features to make sure you have a lovely afternoon with the family beside the Med. Come and make your way down the footpaths leading to the sandy coastline that stretches away into the distance, and enjoy the fantastic views over the waves of the blue Mediterranean! Fancy the idea of really making the most of the sea? Various seaside clubs are here for you to have a go at paddleboarding, windsurfing or jet skiing. Come and surf that holiday wave!

Picnic in the Seigneurie de Peyrat estate

On a lovely summer's day, head for Pézenas from your campsite in the Hérault and come and explore the gorgeous Seigneurie de Peyrat estate. On the outskirts of Pézenas, in a lush setting that features vineyards and wild scrubland, lies this 17th century château, encircled by vegetable gardens, olive groves and, naturally, a huge vineyard. Vines have been grown here for generations, and, during summer, the resulting wines can be tasted during "chic picnics". These are open to visitors and take place from June to September, during which you'll be able to enjoy some delicious local specialities beneath the huge plane trees, accompanied by glasses of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir bearing the “Seigneurie de Peyrat” name. Don't miss this exquisite and magical occasion during your camping holidays close to Pézenas!
